Fantastic Easter Drama Workshop!
Drama Easter holiday school that truly stood out for its creativity and engagement. The three day project was packed with outdoor activities, which made the most of the beautiful weather. One of the highlights was the creation of a devised piece entirely themed around Easter, allowing the participants to explore their imaginations and collaborate in a fun, supportive environment.
The performance activity was a unique touch taking place outside and adding a lively element to the experience. It was delightful to see parents getting involved too, as they played various roles around the school yard, enhancing the overall atmosphere of creativity and community. With 23 enthusiastic participants, the energy was infectious, and the positive feedback from everyone involved was a testament to the success of the project.
Additionally, the crown-making workshop incorporated elements of nature, allowing the kids to connect with their surroundings while crafting something beautiful. Overall, this Easter holiday project was a fantastic blend of creativity, outdoor fun, and community spirit, making it a memorable experience for all involved.

SUMMER PROJECT - CREATE AND PLAY
In August 2025, Montgomeryshire Youth Theatre ran an exciting two-day Create a Play project at Guilsfield Community Centre. The workshop brought together young people aged nine to sixteen who were eager to explore their own stories and bring them to life using a wide range of creative techniques including acting, movement, mask work, and creative writing.
Throughout the two days, participants were encouraged to collaborate closely with one another, building confidence and developing their imagination in a supportive and inspiring environment. They had the opportunity to try out many different roles in the theatre-making process, from performing and directing to experimenting with mime and devising original scenes. The workshop provided a safe space for everyone to express themselves, take creative risks, and discover new ways of storytelling.
The project culminated in a lively sharing session where friends, family, and members of the community were invited to see the results of all the hard work. The performances were full of energy, creativity, and originality, demonstrating just how much talent there is among young people in Powys. Each participant shone in their own way, and it was inspiring to see their stories come to life on stage through their dedication and imagination.
Well done to everyone who took part in the Create a Play workshop. Your creativity and enthusiasm truly made the event special, and it was a joy to see the incredible ideas you all brought to the stage.

MURDER MYSTERY 2025 – ‘LICENCE TO DIE ANOTHER DAY’
We have yet another ‘Murder Mystery Fundraiser’ under our belt, and I want to thank all the participants and volunteers/trustees/staff for their dedication and commitment to making this happen. This year, due to the stage at Guilsfield not being accessible, we moved the event to Berriew Community Centre where it was equally successful. With 100 audience members, a licensed bar and a hog roast the evening went with a bang and feedback has been tremendous. Many thanks in particular to the young actors who worked so hard (they had only one week of rehearsals) to make it such a success. Thanks also to the Trustees for making the salads and doing Front of House, JP Hog Roasts who were fantastic, Neil Saunders for doing sound and lights, David Ward for the set and Martin Creaven and his team at Berriew who were so helpful.
