Intermediates / Seniors
Creation and Administration
Ella (Bella) Franks trained at the Arden School of Theatre in Manchester, where she focused on contemporary performance, comedy, film and more. Alongside working as a freelance artist, she creates original theatre and will be developing new work through an upcoming residency with Surge Theatre Company in Glasgow.
She joined MYT in 2024 and has since led sessions exploring creative devising, dance, mindfulness, monologue work and site-specific theatre. As an arts facilitator and dance teacher working across Shropshire, she is passionate about supporting people of all ages and backgrounds to express themselves through any art form—championing creativity, connection and confidence.”

Penny Jones
Creative & Administrative Director
Penny trained as an actor at Mountview Theatre School in London, before becoming an associate of LAMDA. She started work with MYT as a volunteer under the guidance of the founder, Ginny Graham, in 2006, before taking over as workshop leader for the Junior and Intermediate groups. She was appointed Creative & Administrative Director in 2010 and has enjoyed the challenge of building the organisation up and expanding its reach in the community. She now writes and directs many of the productions and also leads the Seniors workshops and additional projects, with the help of her wonderful colleagues and board of Trustees.

Tamzin edwards
Juniors
Hi, I’m Tazmin Edwards!
My journey with Montgomeryshire Youth Theatre began when I was just 11 years old, and now I have the privilege of leading the Junior Sessions.
Drama has always been a passion of mine; I hold a degree in Drama and Theatre and currently work as a Primary School Teacher. Our Junior Sessions are open to children aged 6 to 10 and take place on Saturdays during term time at Guilsfield Village Hall, from 10:30 am till midday.
Each session is a lively mix of games, improvisation, and rehearsals for upcoming performances, designed to build confidence, creativity, and teamwork.
I find these sessions incredibly rewarding, as they not only nurture a love for drama but also help children grow in confidence, communication, and imagination.

MYT is more than just a drama group—it’s a place where children can make new friends, develop lifelong skills, and experience the magic of performance. I look forward to welcoming new faces and helping young performers shine!
